October Horror Challenge 2018 #21: "The Man they Could not Hang"

This movie really frustrated me. It's about a man, a scientist, who develops a way to resurrect the dead. He gets a young man to sign off on the experimental procedure, but the man's girlfriend is worried it won't work, so she blanks to the cops. The police get to the laboratory right after the young man dies, and they arrest the doctor before he can try and bring the kid back, so the doctor is tried for murder and convicted and hanged. Years later though, it seems that someone is avenging the doctor's death.

So I'm frustrated because the premise of the movie really isn't fair. The young man who signs up for the procedure is well ok informed of the risks, but he's willing to try it anyway. It's not like the doctor is experimenting on an unwilling participant. The girlfriend knows this, but she still eats out the doctor. The police have no choice but to arrest the guy, and of course he's convicted, and the girlfriend is all sad...but it's her fault!

Yes, I do blame her for everything that happens. She knew the doctor wouldn't have time to even try to resurrect the young man, and she still turned him in anyway, then she has the gall to be upset. What did you think would happen, genius? And I'm pretty much fully on the side of the doctor,  so I don't feel bad for the people who have to die to avenge his death. They kinda had it coming. This is an interesting little revenge flick, and I definitely enjoyed watching it, even when it made me want to pull my hair out.
