Gotta love giant monster movies. I always thought Gamera was supposed to be a good guy, sort of the guardian of the people, but maybe that only started when he began fighting Godzilla. This is the first Gamera movie, and he's more of a giant clumsy turtle who can't help but cause destruction but doesn't really mean harm. The people have to figure out how to stop him with the help of a little boy who's smarter than all the scientists. The movie is really a product of it's time, so all the men are casually sexist and insulting. As the Rifftrax commentary says:
"And straight to the harrassment They're creeps, but EFFECIENT creeps."
This movie is silly but fun.
