I watched this movie years ago and really liked it. I love slashers though. I'm a suckered for a good revenge killing story, and this one has a bunch of creepy clown figures and terrifying children's toys. Who buys this crap for their kids? Also, check out that movie cover! It looks like the cover to a Gothic romance novel. They don't make 'em like this anymore!
Anyway this movie is about a bunch of girls living in a sorority house who play a pranks on their bitter old house mother. The pranks goes wrong, and suddenly the girls are panicking and trying to find a way out. Then the killings start.
there are some cool gory scenes here. I love the severed head in the toilet scene. And the killer is actually pretty scary here. I also kinda side with the killer on a lot of things. None of these girls are very likeable, and they're all willing to sell someone out to save themselves. Plus one of the other victims toward the end of the movie TOTALLY had it coming. Some people are just asking to be stabbed to death with a sharp cane. Jerks.
But as much as i liked this movie, I knew it was probably ripe for some snarky commentary, so I was excited to check out the Rifftrax version. Here are some of my favorite quips:
"Eat your heart out Kubrick, you piece of shit two-bit hack."
"Little filmmaking tip: don't light anything at all and you can save on your budget. You don't need scenery or actors!"
"They can't even count to three, how are they gonna get away with murder?"
"It would be a shame if this experience soured them to loaded gun pranks forever."
"See, this is a sign, ladies. It's God telling you you're too dumb for crime."
"If only there was a crowd of people and multiple other exits nearby!"
"You're not fully dead until you're zestfully dead!"
"I'll stay here and guard against potential hole thieves."
"Wouldn't any wet old lady in her bathrobe be just as scary?"
"Oh come on, buck up, you've got a gun! Jamie Lee had to do this with a coat hanger and two annoying brats."
Tee hee. This was a lot of fun. I'm glad I watched it.
