October Horror Challenge 2018 #30: "Laser Mission"
This is one of those times I think the people who sorted this movie were smoking crack or something. They probably saw that this movie started Brandon Lee, and they were like "wasn't he in The Crow? This must be a horror movie" and that's the extent of thought that went into this decision, because the only really horrific thing about this movie (besides how bad it is) is the bad guy who keeps coming back to try and kill the heroes even after he's shot several times, thrown down a mine shaft, and buried in rubble. The guy has a bright future in zombie movies, let me tell you.
So this movie is about a guy who seems to be a spy, some sort of freelance mercenary man (he even has his own theme song) and he gets paid to get this brilliant scientist played by Ernest Borgnine to detect from the Russian empire and use his knowledge of lasers to help the US army instead. I guess he's supposed to be Russian even though no one in this movie can keep their accents straight for five minutes and they swing back and forth from Russian to German to Cuban(?????) throughout the movie. Anyway Brandon Lee teams up with a woman who's supposedly the scientist's daughter, and they try to save him from creepy rapey bad guys for most of the movie's running time. It's pretty horrible. Only watch this if you want to get drunk and make sarcastic comments throughout the movie.
