Horror Hotel (movie #33)
Finally, a decent horror movie. I was starting to think I'd be watching nothing but awful movies today. Well, "The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" was ok, and despite my review, I really did like "Doomsday," but the next two movies I watched were horrendous, so "Horror Hotel" was refreshing. It's not perfect, but it's good. It's about a with being burned at the stake (uh oh, "The Curse of the Crying Woman " has returned!) and then 100 years later, a woman who looks exactly like her runs an old hotel, and a young woman studying witchcraft comes to stay at the hotel (bad, bad idea) and discovers that the old woman is hiding a terrible secret. This movie does play out a lot like "The Curse of the Crying Woman," except that this movie has better acting and a much better script, and this movie has Christopher Lee, who is always creepy. The movie is sho0rt, so there's not a whole lot to say about it without giving away the plot twists, but it's worth checking out.
